In other news, NYC-to-Seattle transport for the felines has been locked in.  Now I just have to do the same for our furniture, and myself... along with all the other writing that's been back-burnered.  urk.  *hides under the desk*

I really need that (well-adjusted, lacking-ambition) clone.  Why hasn't someone rebuilt the GEnie clone ovens yet?

I highly recommend PODS. When I was moving from TX to Philly, they were the cheapest and simplest option. This of course assumes you have a place to put it for a day or more while you load it, granted, but I wasn't willing to pay people to move things I could do myself. Just make sure you look around before it's picked up and make sure you don't miss any furniture you really want. Several bookcases were missed in mine. ;)

Yeah - living in a city apartment, going to a city apartment, a place to store the unit is problematic at best....
