That Staying Dead will be available in mass market format next summer, to go with the trade paper release of Curse the Dark.

I don't have this confirmed yet, but my editor said it in public, in front of witnesses, so....

This does not, however, mean that you should not go out and buy copies of the trade paper edition for friends, family and loved ones this holiday. And if you do, and send me your snail-mail, I'll send you a signed bookplate to go with it. 'Cause I'm just splendid that way. :-D

OOH, I'd love a signed bookplate. :)

Will e-you via the addy on your Web site.

I'm in wait mode. My ARCs should be out soon, as should the cover art. La la la...not a patient person, but I'm learning. ::g::

oops - follow up - the bookplate is for my sister, Laura, since I already have a signed copy from Mysterious Galaxy.

Silly me, expecting people to *know* what I'm thinking.

I'm blaming it on pre-trip insanity.

TIA for bookplate and I'm off to San Antonio via Dallas for Thanksgiving.

Meeting up with said sis and BIL, then the 3 of us are driving down to parental abode.

I am armed with iBook and iPod, because you know, there's this deadline thing. Much closer than I like. (Okay, so May, but still, I have 2/3 of a book to finish). :)

Of course don't wait, do as I do, buy both the trade and the mass market!

I'd like a signed bookplate too, but I'll bet I can get one from you at Philcon during the mass malting!

Actually, I just finished reading Staying Dead yesterday. I've got a Luna subscription, but I'm a couple of months behind on it (and I insist on reading them in order, for some strange reason).

Lots of fun. Being mousy brown and unremarkable looking myself, I could really identify with her. And between the bigots (book two?), the Council, the Silence, and everything else, the whole world rang very true for me.

The only thing that had me scratching my head was when Wren got shot, she was listing possible assassin-hirers off, and the Collector wasn't one of them. I didn't understand why he didn't occur to her, even though the reader knew why it wasn't him. She didn't, until Sergei told her. Unless she was just so confident that she couldn't imagine him figuring out who had broken into his place.

Next summer for the sequel? I can't wait. And hopefully there will be a book three after that.
