Saturday, I worked. Actually, Friday night through Saturday night, I worked.  Thankfully, I had companionship in the wordwar room, so felt less like a Total Loser Without A Social Life and more like a dedicated professional working on a project I love.  Also, there was wine.  And episodes of Eureka (which I am binge-watching. Again.  Thank you, Netflix).

Sunday, I was Away From Keyboard, doing sundry gadding about, including reclaiming my sister from the international arrivals terminal at Newark Airport, and hauling her back to the city.

And I've reached the point in this book where taking a day off gives me actual anxiety. Because no reason at all - I know where the scene is going, I am pretty confident it's no more or less fucked brilliant than it was yesterday, and I know that tomorrow morning I'll be back in the chair.

But. But.

This is why having a writer in your life is so difficult. Because even when we're with you, a part of us...isn't.

Sorry.

What did you all get up to?

Mainly sleep, it feels like. *grins* Yesterday I visited urban goats, gave blood, wandered around town for a few hours, hung out with a friend, then went to a listener party for listeners of several good locally-made podcasts I'm a fan of. Then walked home late (an hour's walk), crashed, and didn't commit to gettng and staying out of bed until past noon. FELT LUXURIOUS.

Sounds like the book is in decent shape in your head, and the words will want to get out. I hope it's a good feeling.

Also sleep. Reading old stuff to remind myself I can make words look good. And I'm almost through the first season of Eureka, again. Thanks--haven't seen it in a while.

The last time I binged on TV I was watching "Castle." It's not the only crime show I enjoy, but it is the only crime show I would set aside an afternoon for.

My ex-wife could always tell when my mind had drifted off to one of my novels. It was one of the few things she was patient about.

Friday was a Good Writing Day (with company, witch probably was why). Saturday was a day spent reading that book that's been nagging me with it's oncoming resolution, it's now done. Sunday was spent in Copenhagen celebrating an anniversary by visiting a lot of places I can use as inspiration in that thing I'm writing. Sweetest was understanding as usual, he also has that knack for knowing when I'm more in my book than in the present.

Working, mainly - in the shop Fri/Sat, and at home y'day on the WFA reading and working on a short story. We went out on Fri night for a friend's birthday, but evenings in otherwise.

I did writing stuff, real estate stuff, horse stuff, and went to the ballet.

And slept. I've been really tired lately, and the kids have been really pushy at work. Typical February in middle school.

I was in Toronto attending a Bollywood Viking Apocalypse party which was a joint celebration of Ragnarok and my girlfriend's birthday (incriminating photos on Facebook). We also enjoyed a late Valentine's Day by going to see the Lego Movie and trying a new to us gastropub that turned out to have an amazing menu and an impressive assortment of Belgian ales. We also played an embarrassing amount of Minecraft, only a couple of hours of which involved her six year old son. All in all, a great weekend that turned out to be far too brief.
