I've never actually met a writer who felt worse after a positive critique or review. Speaking for myself, I've had too many rejection slips over the last 15 years to take compliments too seriously, but even I don't mind them. ;) In the same vein, I think negative critiques/reviews are just as subjective; I ignore the adjectives and look at specific issues raised.

Well, technically, you've never 'met' me, so that's true. But I doubt I'm alone in that sense of unease.... it's a perfectionist thing.

Perfectionism is not something I've ever been accused of. Too much of other things, perhaps, but not that.
