Agents of Shield: fun and plot-building.

Supernatural: a little heart-breaking, a little adorable, definitely building to something.

Person of Interest: ijjjjfkkshkr can't even *flail* you magnificent bastards who is going to pay for our therapy bills?

Yeah, that about sums up LAG's evening.

Longer thoughts and discussion below the cuts where it's spoilery...

Agents of Shield: I really wish that AoS had trusted us enough from the start to dive into the character-based stories, rather than wasting 5 episodes introducing all the fiddly bits of worldbuilding we didn't need. They had a built-in fandom ready to make it a hit, why not just drag the newbies along, rather than kludging it up trying to explain it to them? In media res, guys. In media res. That said, the last two eps have given me hope....

Supernatural:
oh god, I have so many Thinks on this ep. There's lots of discussion about how they're mirroring "The Man Who Would be King" and "Route 666" here, and yeah, I see it. I'm not sure what it means, though - I am Wary of the writers, at this point. And not a good wary, no.

I called it - Nora was totally friendzoning him, in a really sweet "you're sweet but not my type" way, clear to anyone who actually has a degree in being human.  Poor Cas, although honestly he didn't seem all that disappointed. And Cas singing to the baby, and having a heart-to-heart with his own heart.... I die.

Oh Dean. That was…actually pretty good dating advice. I mean, for someone who’s crap at relationships (and no, I don’t see any reason to moan about Dean giving dating advice here. He’s a dick, but he’s also a good friend who doesn’t cockblock if that’s what the other person wants…if he had, I’d have been terribly disappointed in him).

If you're going by the camera shots and the physical acting, those two are missing each other and are frustrated and maybe even pining in a way that's more than brotherly.  But see above re: Wary.

"Your king!” Oh poor Crowley, you dumb sunnabitch. You forgot the first rule of the jungle, didn’t you?  But Crowley still scares me. He’s not as crazy as Abaddon, but he’s smarter…  (and anyone want to talk about the vials, in the last scene?  C'mon, let's talk about that!)

It was interesting seeing yet another angelic threat, when we were sort of primed to think it was more hosting-gone-wrong with the exploding bodies. Y’know, Ephram should be salivating with both Dean and Cas in the same town.... interesting that Cas' first thought is to protect the baby, not himself.   With luck, Cas trying to teach Ephram is him teaching himself, too….

and Dean will in no way ever let anything happen to Cas. To the point of rushing in, apparently without a plan? But Cas can save himself, thank you very much. That’s the point - they BOTH had to learn. On their own, if that’s what it takes. :-(

"It’s irreversible…can’t be undone." But that doesn’t mean another spell can’t do something about it…?  I really don't see them leaving Heaven entirely empty, so will be looking for the next piece of the clue, particularly in episodes that aren't nominally about Angelfall.

Meanwhile, what does Dean choose — a comforting lie, or the hard truth? Oh, Dean…. well, it wasn’t entirely a lie?

(there has been speculation that Crowley is lying about the lack-of-solution but I don't really see that working, logically.  It would make more story-sense for there to be no undo button, so they have to find another way (with another Cost) to set things right.

(and Cas is going to learn that all of this (humanity, angels, etc) IS his problem. Because the part of him that cares is what makes him special…and I bet that's going to be part of the Cost, too.)

Person of Interest:When two bad titans clash…. wise good guys duck (and get ballistic vests).

Oh, Joss. Deep game. Deep, deep game.  But she's a very smart woman, and she learned form the best, obviously.  She's impressed even Reese and Shaw (and is giving poor Finch and Fusco conniptions.  Well, we always knew who the momma hens were, in this gang...)

"Tell me you didn’t use the front door." "I never do." And hello slashy innuendo.

Lovely martial music for Joss, there. Which of course is making me fear for her, despite the (misdirection?) of Fusco’s danger….

and there’s Fusco, being smart again, but maybe blinded by his (god help us) innate decency….. how far our boy has come, once he got dragged out by the scruff of his neck. Ad so now I worry about him again, too, because he’s Being Good as Joss is Going Dark….

And that teaser for next week sent the entire fandom into a tailspin. Each week we see another piece of the potential pie, and it is bitter, bitter....
