I'm just sayin'. Y'know?

(I think I want to try a variant of layers -- bittersweet over milk over bean? Or the other way around? Let's take a vote...)

By this post you may deduce that I've been working all day. You'd be right. In the groove, in the groove, but starting to feel a little worn around the tire rims, as it were.

I have no brain left. In fact, my brain seems to have fled the scene entirely, leaving no forwarding address. I am, like my espresso beans, dark and bitter and slightly gritty when crunched.

I need a vacation. Oh, wait, I've got one coming up. Yay! for Paris in two weeks!

(shit, I've got to get everything done by then. *crunches more beans*)

How about Boston Baked? :)

I think I'd like chocolate filled beans, with a crisp, crunchy coffee shell and creamy chocolate beneath. Actually doing that may be challenging.

As an alternative, dip the bean in a cinnamon slurry, let dry, then dip in the chocolate of your choice. For an extra kicker, add a dash of Szechuan oil to the cinnamon slurry.

I have no brain left. In fact, my brain seems to have fled the scene entirely, leaving no forwarding address.

"Mind? What mind? Hey, I do some of my best work in this state!"

I am, like my espresso beans, dark and bitter and slightly gritty when crunched.

But not delicious?

I need a vacation. Oh, wait, I've got one coming up. Yay! for Paris in two weeks!

I'd ask for a trip report afterward, but I fear giving you an excuse to feed your habit.

You'll manage. But I do recommend a good night's sleep somewhere in there.

Oh, Paris! Zut alors, I was going to e-mail you all kinds of suggestions. I'll stick a few here, and then if I get some spare time and brain-cycles, I'll collect some more later. Do you have a place to stay? You said, and I forget. If not, this place is nice. Right in the middle of the Quartier Latin. They've even got free wifi. Okay, other suggestion: best book of street maps is l'Indispensable, which really is. Score points with Parisians because this is something most tourists don't know about but almost any local has one of. Metro tickets: Just buy a bunch of single-ride tickets ("un carnet, s.v.p."). We got day passes and only on one day did we get our money's worth. You really have to take lots of rides to do that. Um, um...brain going offline. More later! ::thud::

OOoooo. Paris.....

Have fun. Eat many good cheeses, all the bread and wine I can't have, and toss in a few killer ground nut and chocolate desserts that I would be seeking out....

And the bookstores, oh, my, and the museums...

Keep writing. I requested a non-fiction book for a writing class I'm teaching at Panda*Monium next month, and gently pointed out that despite the bookseller's Luna fear, he was losing sales not carrying STAYING DEAD. We'll see if he bites--

I vote for french roasted beans, some dipped in semi-sweet French or high end USA chocolate, some rolled in cinnamon and cardamon and then dipped in chocolate.

I've found a tea with chocolate and cardamom...heaven.

Paris in November? What a beutiful vacation that will be! Tea with chocolate and cardamon? Does the chocolate overwhelm the palate or does it balance out the presence of cardamon?
