So, this is very cool, simply for what it is.  But it's also neat to look at the difference stance-choices, and what they say about each interpretation of the same character, both from a timeframe perspective, and the actor himself.

Personally, the only one I 'believe' is shooting, rather than posing, is Craig.  His stance, and the leashed violence in his movement, sells it for me. How about you? And what does the choice of movement tell you?

(and yes, as was pointed out on Tumblr, Roger Moore is the only Bond whose gun does not actually fire)

That's a cool gif, but it moves way too fast for me to make out any of those details. I guess I'm too old...

LOL I didn't think of that...not sure how I'd even do it. But the *idea* is cool, props to whoever did it.

I'm so glad that's not just me, then.

I knew this looked familiar... found my reaction to it in November:

You what struck me most about that gif? The fact that Roger Moore is the only one who doesn't fire (and he's alone in taking a two-handed grip on the gun). He also, to my untrained eye, is in the best shooting position. If I had to guess, I'd peg him as the actual shootist of the bunch.

I am not convinced that police officers are actually very well-trained for combat shooting. The people I know who practice tactical shooting do it using both hands, their dominant hand only, and their support hand only. As an interesting aside, if you are cross-eye dominant, you may well be more accurate with your off hand.

I could argue that Pierce Brosnan is shooting too. There's a directness in the way he turns and levels the pistol that's very businesslike.

I'm surprised at how dance-y Sean Connery is. And what's up with George Lazenby dropping to one knee?

I can't tell how far back Brosnan's right foot is planted; his stance looks strong enough to me to manage the recoil. Dalton, not so much.

The other thing that strikes me is Connery's left arm goes back in this odd balletic move. And Lazenby's just flaps.

My partner says that none of them look real, but I would mostly agree about Craig. Lazenby's is awful. About like his Bond. Moore's is not an active shot. Not only does his not fire, but he is the only one who isn't walking. Two hands might work well in a static pose.
