NYC OEM - Notify NYC @NotifyNYC
Due to police activity, the Port Authority Bus Terminal is temporarily closed. Expect emergency personnel and traffic delays in the area.
EtA: It's been reopened. Suspicious package, no word on their suspicions were justified, but you can understand the NYPD being jumpy...
EtA2: for folk who've never been to NYC/never been through the PABT, it is, I believe, the largest bus terminal in the USA. On average about 200,000 people go through there every weekday, most of them during rush hour but it's never empty and rarely quiet, with stores and restaurants as well as departures/arrivals. Shutting it down is not a thing done lightly, or easily.

The last time we had a serious public incident was, I think, 2010, with the Times Square car bomb.
