A lot of writing today, not all of which I'm enthralled with (a lot of it was placeholder-until-research), but this bit...yeah, this didn't suck.

“This is a story, little firebird. This is a story that goes back thousands and thousands of years, to before humans grew from the mud."


So much of what I'm doing right now may never see print, for various reasons. The trick is to look at every piece not as "may or may not be published," but part of an endless stream of work that nourishes and grows what comes after....
