Several years ago, my grandfather went into the hospital after a relapse of, well, old age. It was opening day at Fenway Park. He asked my sister, when she came to visit him, if the Sox had won their opener. She was able to tell him that yes, they had.

He died that night.
When news came, my nephews wanted to know if great-grandpa had known that his beloved Sox had won. And we were able to tell that that yes, he knew.

He had been there when the Sox won their last World Series championship.
He passed that love of his team on to my nephews.

On behalf of my grandfather, my nephews, and the rest of the Red Sox Nation: thank you, and good night. And we'll see you at the World Series.

And, oh yeah. Who's your daddy?

edited to add: OMG. Someone just pointed this out: If the Astros win, then it's a Presidential World Series: Massachusetts vs. Texas.

That's a very touching story.

I don't really follow baseball, but I'm happy the underdogs won.
