Citizen up. Vote.

I really long for the days when I could vote, and go home, and believe that even if I didn't personally agree with the candidate who won, they'd do their biased best for the country, and all the citizens therein. That... is not this year. If Mitt Romney wins this election, I do not see the country overall (even the people who voted for him) being in better shape 4 years from now. In fact, I expect long-term damage to the infrastructure, and I'm not just talking about the roads. And "I told you so" is not going to help.


But however it turns out, democracy is only a spectator sport before the polls open and after they close. For the time they're open, we ARE the starting team. Getcher asses off the sofa and vote!

This Ohioan is certain that he'll be getting a LOT of phone calls until he actually shows up at the polls to vote. And probably even afterward.

Voted one and a half weeks ago (I live in Oregon, which is 100% vote-by-mail). Got my ballot on Friday, mailed it on Saturday.

Really high turnout here in coastal Mass. I really feel for people in NY and NJ with the mess of the storm. It sounds like the predictable chaos is ensuing. It is a testimonial to how seriously people down your way are taking their voting responsibility that they are even trying to surmount all the obstacles.
Sending good wishes your way for surviving the next storm headed our way. Sounds like we may get more of a hit here from this one than we did from Sandy. I feel for all of you. Stay safe.
