Well. The laptop is booting up. Under protest, and noisily. But the keyboard is dead, despite all attempts to revive it.
Thankfully, the data appears to be intact, so transferring it shouldn't (knowck wood) be too much of a headache. And I had done an offsite backup on the two novels-in-progress just this week. Am still deeply annoyed.
I may need to buy a new laptop, six months ahead of schedule. Grrr. I still prefer Dell, despite this recent kerfuffle -- anyone have any model recs to make? (this was am Inspiron 5100)
