lagilman: coffee or die (meerkat coffee)

Carried over from last week

- try to get somewhere with the two Practical Meerkat essays I have in my head
- put together notes for possible joint project with RC on hold due to Something Else.
- make travel plans for WorldCon/Chicago Research Trip (waiting on responses)
- finish reading things I promised to blub on (they're wonderful, I'm just being slow)

New Stuff
- finish the freelance work (before more stuff hits!)
- post awful (books to UK)
- book tix for Spain
- dentist (ugh)
- write the "why I drink wine" essay. Or at least draft it. Or drink some more wine.
- the Oh So Dreaded Filing, this week's iteration.
- jot down notes for the Project I'm Not Working on Right Now
- wait for Madame Jenn and Madame Micki to get back to me on various things I AM working on right now.
- NYRSF reading Tuesday night
- send out more short stories to be cruelly beaten-down by the marketplace

There. That week doesn't look so bad, does it?

Kickstarter updates: "Negotiations" has gone out to those patrons as qualify. "Dirt on Their Hands" will go out either today or tomorrow has gone out to likewise-qualifying patrons. I will stomp any flittering-in-my-head ideas of taking either of those stories and expanding them ...for now. I am waiting on the interior art for "From Whence You Came" from Bob, at which point the entire thing will be formatted and sent out. And then I will fall over, curl up, and hope the responses are positive...

"Why I Drink Wine" essay? Color me curious. When I see a topic like that, I get intrigued because for most people the answer is a simple "for enjoyment." Is your relationship with wine more complicated than that?

Ah. Sounds like an interesting puzzle. Maybe tapestry is a better metaphor?

I keep putting off my "Why I Became a Sommelier" essay. I've started it a few times, but start going off track on philosophical or narrative tangents.
