Home from World Fantasy, which was its usual chaotic, jumbled, energizing, exhausting self.  It - as usual - helped me refocus my mind, determine what was important, and what was Not.  it also reaffirmed that, for me, WFC = Commonwealth, as I seemed to once again spend much of my time with the Brits, Aussies, and Canadians.  Although this time, the Americans seemed to be doing more of the drinking...  *tsks sadly*

*ahem*

As to the topic header, and since some have asked: No, I will not be participating in NaNoWriMo.  I will, however, be settling in to do some serious wordcount damage on current WiPs.  Which means that the discipline is ON.  No excuses, no distractions, and only partial
allowances for Life to interfere.  My best-beloveds have been so-informed.

This, of course, is just asking the Universe to screw with me.  Live dangerously, I say...

How about y'all?  Do you have Great Plans for November?  (writing or otherwise)

I do! I have a January deadline for Currently Nameless Story, so I will be writing my butt off to get it done in time.

Yes, please. I'd consider it a favor.

Yesterday was supposed to be the start of Operation Nose-to-Grindstone, but I wound up worshiping the porcelain god instead, courtesy of a stomach bug I picked up from my nephews. What is it about children being vectors for every virus that blows through town? Anyway. The outline is firmly in place, I just have to, yanno, actually start writing the damned thing.

From now until December 1, I need to write a nonfiction professional book left hanging by another author. I have all the materials. I believe I can do this. I have done it before, but that time I was editing material rather than writing it myself. This might possibly be easier.

I'm in the same boat. I'm nanoing in so much as why not, but really that deadline and some current time away from the the day jobbery. So shall I expect you in the war room? I'll be in most days, except tomorrow.

I believe November is going to be "Edit your ass off month" for me, with a side helping of "design ALL the books"

The marquis and I enjoyed hanging out with you (as did the ferret). The marquis points out, though, that he kept up his end of the drinking. I was a wimp, I admit it. It was just too hot for me to be able to face alcohol.

Beyond wanting my heat back on after the October Surprise, I'm planning to finish the first Vineart War book...which I am absolutely loving. The next person to read it will probably be my roommate, whom I got hooked on fantasy via [livejournal.com profile] otterdance's books. Really good stuff, and I'm not even close to a wine expert :)

(alcoholism runs in my family so I don't drink much...but I do like wine, especially Italian reds, thanks to my week in Florence)

Manic writing skills needed here too, although not NaNoWriMo, just writing.
