The Clarion Write-A-Thon, Post 0
Jun. 25th, 2011 09:02 amThe Clarion Workshop is an intensive, genre-focused, hands-on writing program where writers spend six weeks getting their chops sharpened. It's been around for years (decades!), and some of our best writers got their start there.
In recent years, Clarion has lost a lot of their funding, as grants and gifts dried up. So we're going to try and raise money to keep them going, via a write-a-thon. Starting on Sunday (tomorrow), I will be writing in solidarity with the new writers attending this year's Clarion. My goal is - at the same time I am working on my contracted work - writing a novella from scratch. I will be blogging the experience, and inviting donors to cheer (or mock) my progress (as well as vote on character names and plot twists). You can donate a single sum, or on a weekly basis, on a word-count goal, or any other way you think of to contribute....
And yes, as a supporter, you might just get killed off in the story. :-)

EtA: The New Novella is something, well, new. Not part of any universe I've written in, before....
