because *sigh* Pandora apparently blew her entire undercoat last night, thanks to yesterday's painfully muggy high of 95 degrees. Just spent half an hour brushing her out. Know anyone who could use a gallon baggie of fine gray fur?

yes, there is more going on in my life right now than that, but that's what I can talk about without a) talking too soon about stuff Still In Motion, or b) boring y'all to death with iterations of "and then I did another pass on the manuscript, fixing the things that are still broken..."

It is very much the shedding season. My three are determined to re-carpet the house. Especially Moon, who is long-haired.

You should have it spun and made into kitten-mittens.

Ours haven't had time to grow winter coats yet, being as they've never been outside yet.

Tonic (who I got in 1988) used to shed profusely. She was supposedly a British Shorthair, but at some times of year, we could comb out a fist-sized bundle of fur every day.

At least Abbies are proper shorthairs. The downside is that Abbie hair is visible against almost any background, by dint of the ticking.

Maybe you could ask over on Ravelry if there are any spinners or knitters who want the fur?

And me and my four cats are still huddling around a fire every night...and we're in Southern California. What's wrong with this picture???

I stuffed a little net bag with cat fluff and tied it to our bird table. All the fluff was taken by birds for nest-building. Hopefully this has not resulted in a generation of baby birds who associate cat-smell with home-safe...
