This is my first goodbye...
Apr. 4th, 2011 09:57 pmAnd lo, after a day of running around and getting my nails done (cut short and painted pink) and NOT dying my hair blue although I did consider it, and dithering about what to pack (because the washing machine card dispenser was not working and ack! I have no pants! Or socks!) and trying to talk myself out of the belief that my "basket" (actually a bag, a spoof of the PSI kit Bonnie carries) will NOT be the lamest offering among expensive-trinket-laden baskets being offered to booksellers, and doing all the last minute things I normally would have dealt with a week ago, if I hadn't been sick....
Well. It's been a day, that's all.
And tomorrow I head off to Los Angeles and my first RT Booklovers' Conference, where I will either have a miserable horrible time or have a blast and enjoy myself immensely.
Knowing me, the latter will be more likely. I have been told I'd find a way to enjoy myself at my own funeral, and they were probably right.
So, if you're attending RT, come to my panels/signings or track me down in the hallways*. I may have goodies to give away. Or I may just be sitting in the bar with my peeps, seeing who can lie the best. Either way, we'll find our fun.
[when I am not wandering the halls or skating off with Local Friends, I will be in my room, madly typing away. Because the work, it goes on, no matter where you are, and the Book is Still Due Soon.)
*the BookFair on Saturday is open to everyone, for a $5 fee. Writers on the Hoof!

Date: 2011-04-05 10:30 am (UTC)Many folk have been -trying- to get WFC to do the same. I have no understanding of why they resist. So if nobody comes, there's no loss. If someone does - more sales, and an additional $ to the conference. Where's the bad?
[I somehow doubt we'd be overrun, seriously...]

Date: 2011-04-05 10:39 am (UTC)when I decide I can't stand the silvering any more, maybe I'll do it then. I see a lot of little old ladies with fabulously fierce multi-colored hair around here.
