...and back again

lagilmanHome from a weekend runaway to Cape May (NJ), w/ G, who rather badly needed the downtime. Wine, beach-walking, excellent food, and fine conversation refilled the well/recharged the batteries nicely. And I am pleased to see that The Brass Bed B&B as-was is in good hands with the new owners as The Bacchus Inn [always a worry when there are new owners.....]
As we were there before the season officially began, many things weren't open (no dinner at 410 Bank Street alas) and the wind was occasionally rough, but hiking along the wildlife preserves and seeing hawks overhead and swans on the water, and rabbits in the underbrush (a well as the ever-present marsh deer) was worth an occasional chill.
Now...laundry. And answering the email I ignored for 2 days (eeek)
