Hey guys, I'm curious. If you've bought HARD MAGIC or PACK OF LIES (or plan to), did you choose paper or electronic format?

(reasons welcome but not needful, I'm just looking for a rough hand-count, here.)

If I end up getting PACK OF LIES it'll be in the electronic format in the next few days, because I'll be skiing in Pennsylvania. If not, it'll be because I managed to stop by my library in time to pick it up :D

Paper. E-formats are great for travel, but nothing beats the solid feel of a book in your hands.

I got HARD MAGIC in paper; haven't decided yet re: PACK OF LIES. On the one hand, shelf space! On the other hand, you seem inclined to come through here for signings, and I'd love to have the set. :D

Yepyep, I see you when you come by MG.

Hee, that's cool! I'm not sure mine has enough signable surface...

I bought electronic and would LOVE to have you sign my Kindle if I ever get to meet you! I already have a couple other authors signatures. :)

I read and reviewed the eARCs from NetGalley and then bought the paper books to put on my shelf and re-read. ebooks tend to be "out of sight, out of mind" for me. I still prefer print.

I am buying them in hard format, because I see the author occasionally and I can get them signed. ;-)

Trade paperback. I don't care for ebooks.

I bought "Hard Magic" in ebook format - I love the feel of an actual book, but space (and travel ability) is an issue, so I've been buying more and more in ebook format.

Paper, because I haven't bought a reader yet, and I wanted portability. Whenever I get around to buying a reader, my decisions re. novels will probably be based on availability.

I bought them both in paper - however I'm running out of book room so by this time next year I expect to be buying ebooks for an ipad or kindle ( or be living in a bigger appartment )

Paper. I'm a bit of a luddite that way, but I like the paper format. I was reminded of the joys of low tech when Ike blew through Cincinnati in 2008, leaving us without power for a couple of days.

Electric. I actually prefer paper but electric is SO much easier to hold when I am feeding and then rocking the baby to sleep, which happens multiple times a day. Paper makes my poor little fingers cramp from holding the book in an awkward position not to mention hard on the eyes due to the nursery being darker than the rest of the house since the baby insists on NO light. Hence I love my Droid with its Nook app. :)

Paper...I like the feel of a real book in my hand. I also like to be able to flip back and forth (if need be) which is a heck of a lot easier with a paper version.

ebook. I have no space for more physical books and ebooks are usually cheaper than the paper versions.

I got Hard Magic as e-book and Pack of Lies in paper :).

Hard Magic, I went with e-books, mainly cause e-books are much, much cheaper ( roughly half the price)

I got Pack of Lies in paper, since I was too impatient to wait on the e-book. *grin*

I bought Hard Magic in paper form, but will probably rebuy the ebook too. I plan to buy Pack of Lies in electronic form. (Mostly because I got a Kindle in October.)

bought both, in ebook format (from b&n). Except for Sanderson, I'm pretty much buying stuff in ebook format. I am *buying* your stuff however.

I have HARD MAGIC in paper format. I REFUSE to move to electronic. In my mind, it's not really a BOOK unless you can hold it, physically turn the pages and smell the paper (yes, I'm that weird).

My plan is to get PACK OF LIES over the next month also in paper format.

ebook

eBook for me

i've found having hundreds of books at my fingertips, IN MY PURSE, way handier than hauling around extra books with me in case of a reading emergency. no more books laying around the car, work, my purse, my bag, etc. that and hubby is getting frustrated with the couple thousand books laying around lol

i still do buy some paper books, but they are either signed editions, antiquarian copies, bedside reading favourites, or something that isn't available in ebook format. not to mention, i find Kobo has great deals on ebooks that i just can't get in store. ;)

But I live overseas and have very little storage.

Paper for both. The physical copies are much more alluring than the electronic ones, in my opinion.
