That's good to see.

A couple of years ago, when Star Wars - The Clone Wars first came out, my oldest tried joining in the weekly discussions at the lunch table over the episodes.

"Star Wars is for boys!" some of them told her.

"No it's not!" she shot back, and some of the other boys defended her right to be there.

Faced with a wall of opposition, the problem kids subsided, and that was that. The irony of the situation is that she's since converted several other girls into being Star Wars fans, and the kids who wanted to exclude her have since moved away.

I knew about the campaign -- indeed, I am one of the many who sent her a message. I'm so glad it's gone so well.

It does get better. But there will always be idiots, so we must be vigilant!

Go, geek girls!
