The election is over. The Government got elected, as always. Can we have some quiet on the airwaves now, please?
Yesterday for ProNaNoWriMo I only got 1,000 new words, due to ongoing computer issues (that's why I wasn't in WordWar - sorry, guys) and the fact that G. was here for dinner/election result watching. I intend to do better today, damn it (since I got over 3,000 on Monday I'm not behind...yet).
EtA: computer issues seem to have et my e-mail program, and any/all pending emails. If you're waiting to hear from me... you might want to resend. Imay will have to buy a new hard drive, ahead of schedule. Grrr. Also argh. Am Very Unhappy Person right now.
Today I also have to hit the post awful to mail out books, order groceries so I don't starve, email a few editors, and hie myself downtown to have dinner with my Israeli publisher, who is in town post-WFC. That, right there, sums up the life of a writer, iteration Good Day.

However, in the long run it probably turned out great for the Dems in Ohio, even though it sure doesn't look like it right now. The Republicans have to go through the 2011 state budget, and it's shaping up to be much much worse than 2009's did. I'd love to see them try to cut Medicare and Medicaid out of the state budget, which is what they'd have to do to balance the budget (per state law) if they want to cut taxes further. All of those retirees who voted Republican this time around would be screaming bloody murder.
Attracting industry to Ohio is going to be a big problem, since blue collar industry simply isn't staying in the U.S. Taxes or no taxes, having someone work for a dollar a day overseas is much more lucrative to a corporation. Unless, of course, you get rid of those pesky child labor and minimum wage laws.
