Which is actually a mobile location, as I'm busward-bound to NYC. Looks like Delaware, from the signage. I should be working. What I want to do is nap. Whichever I do, I'll do the other once home. It's a plan...

The Bolt bus on the way down was excellent -- roomy, well-driven, conducive to work. This one... it's okay, no more. But for $20 vs Amtrak's $70-90? I'll deal. And so far, anyway, we're making good time.

For more detailed rally goodness, Nea's take on yesterday's events.

So, anyone who has done NaNoWriMo without actually signing up for NaNoWriMo -- did you make it? Or is the community essential to the experience?

Meanwhile, my November plans have just been thrown an interesting potential travel-wrench. I need to think on this... (and by 'think' I mean 'stomp on my instinctive reaction and consider if it's really doable from a time and sanity perspective.')

And that's 5 things, so this is a post. Happy All Hallows Eve/Samhain, y'all!

I'd recommend signing up and going to some write ins, the community is fun for the experience.

Nope, it's not. I've done NaNo w/o signing up and made it. What's fun about signing up is the word counters, because I'm cheap that way. ;)

Actually, the community, in terms of the message boards, have a tendency to be filled with too many residents from the Bitter Barn who love to pontificate on Everything That's Wrong With Publishing. But the organized meetups can be a lot of fun-- every now and again it's nice to shake things up and meet up with a group of people who are all doing the same thing-- even for a big ol' introvert like me. ;)

I think the community is full of a bunch of annoying posers who are all "New paragraph...group hug!!1"(i.e. not what I need in the least...people that have writing sweatshirts and lucky pens.)

I did it 3 years in a row. I signed up to be official, and post my wordcounts, but I did NOT do any of the community stuff. First year, did not make it. Second and third, I did (yay). I wanted to do it this year, but my paying job is just too much, too stressful, so I'm not. But it feels weird.
