So, some guy on tv said "let's go hang out on the Mall and be excellent to each other."

And we did!

and, my favorite, the one that really sums it all up:

(more signs and crowd shots @ my flickr set)

And before anyone asks how many people were there: damned if I know. Lots. More than lots. Less than were at the Inauguration but enough to fill the Mall and overflow into the streets and no damn room to move...so we all just sat down and picnicked and rallied in a very agreeable, collaborative way.

And now we are home and there is apple wine mulling and The Librarian on the tv. And life is good.

That was an awesome set!

I personally loved the Pac-Man, but I guess that's what happens when you're a child of the 80's.

Okay, the librarian one was awesome too.

MSNBC said more than 100,000 people were there. Way to go for the good guys!

Looks like it was loads of fun, and full of our kind of people. Very awesome. I'm delighted you could go.

That is awesome. :-D This is how politics/protests should be. People voicing opinions, and having what seems to be a pretty damned good time doing it. It amazes me how many <30ish people are in there. People say our generation is apathetic, but time and again, we're proving they're wrong.

Ah, yes, the "let my people pee!" moment.
