Julia Child has died, three days before her 92nd birthday.

A moment of silence, please, for the woman who took up cooking as a mid-life career...

*silence*

Lady Bright. I love(d) her. I am very proud to share her birthday. She was one of the people that inspired me to try cooking all kinds of things that I never otherwise would have, and I hope to have that same lust for life and good food when I'm her age.

She Will Be Sorely Missed.

Over on SFF-NET, I suggested a cook-in this weekend, to celebrate her life.

Ah, damn, she's gone? *sigh*

What a good idea, Kzin. I know I have one of her cookbooks somewhere...

*wanders off to look at cookbook*

Blessed Be

Not only did she make some complex cooking fun and simple, she is an inspiration to those of us who wish to kick-start life again around that midlife mark....

Julia, I hope you enjoyed it all.
