Since I haven't heard from you in response to last email or posts, assume it's a nogo for meetup?

That's a shame - we'd have been very happy to put you up for the night as well. We have room.

Perhaps next time.

(There will be a next time.)

I'm sorry!

My thinking is currently

Sunday:

We Meet at the Meeting Place in St Pancras at ~12:30
We do stuff
Pembury Tavern for supper, chat with general others
Get back to KX by 21:52
Arrive Royston Station at 22:36

Nightcaps
Sleep

Monday:

Breakfast (you do breakfast?)

You catch train from Royston Station ~08:59
You arrive KX ~09:41
... you meet up with Jules somewhere

I'm hoping [livejournal.com profile] clanwilliam and [livejournal.com profile] gmh will be along (they are known to haunt the Pembury in particular), and will have any particular suggestions for the 'stuff' part, being as they are residents of the city. If you have anything particular you want to do as well, let us know.

Mais oui.

Assuming that's Forbidden Planet, I've never been particularly impressed by their stock. On the other hand, it should be different stock from what's in a NYC store, so who knows. I'm happy with book spelunking. I've not done it in ages.

(Herself and I first met in one of their signing queues.)

FP usually do have your books in, actually, but perhaps giving them a ring and checking might be viable (020 7420 3666 from within UK)?

I can probably make lunchtime on Monday, and in fact this would be good as for some unknown reason (probably to do with cow milking times) the last train from London to the local station leaves at 8.30 pm, which is ludicrous for anyone wanting an evening in town.

That is early, too early.

We have the advantage of being sufficiently close to town that they do run the late trains, even on the Sunday. We even get a just-post-midnight outbound one.

Though that one adds nearly half an hour to the journey time.

To be fair, those of us in the W Country can use the Bristol stations - a fast run and trains up to midnight. This does, however, leave me with an hour's drive at the end, as opposed to 25 minutes.

I would just like to jump in on this thread and announce that I remain jealous of your jaunting about. That is all.
