I am taking notes/photos for a trip report (although I seem to have lost portions of Thursday, hrm) but it may have to wait as connectivity is limité, and I'm still getting used to the French keyboard.

However my little electronic gnomes tell me that WEIGHT OF STONE is starting to get some more reviews, the most recent from SFScope, who gripes a little about it being the middle book of a trilogy* but says "you'll still want to keep turning the pages, and with me, you'll be waiting for the next book."

Yay!

I have also handed an early copy to mine host, [livejournal.com profile] fakefrenchie, for her travel reading. She is most put out that there is no French edition, as she wanted to share it with non-English reading friends. Alas, despite the book being set in an alterate Burgundy, the French have not come to play. My feelings are hurt, but I will still drink their wine. I am generous that way.

And now I have to go and make some more thé, and work on my page proofs for PACK OF LIES like a good girl, so when the rain stops I can go out and play....

ETA: the rain looked like it was going to end and then rained don some more. It tauns me with hints of blue sky... and this country, once again, is giving me all sorts of story ideas. I only wish I had the time/energy/resources to write them all on spec... (without, y'know, blowing existing deadlines or starving to death...)

*I have no guilt for this. It says up front that it is a trilogy, I have never claimed otherwise, and I have finished it up in three books as advertised. And the second book does not flail or sag, according to mine editor. I can do no more.

I just got the email that Flesh And Fire in paperback is in at my local Barnes and Noble. Yayness abounds.

LOL. I give my older nieces and nephew Barnes and Noble giftcards every year for Yule. So they get books anyway.}:P

This is true. Hmmm... next time I'm in Michigan, I'll have to find out what types of books they like. Emily might really enjoy yours.}:P
