I'm looking at setting aside a day while I'm in France to visit London (because, y'know, more than mostly there already). If you're going to be in town between 27 September and 9 October, and want to meet up, drop me a line here or via email...

(I'm looking particularly at youse, [livejournal.com profile] bellinghman and [livejournal.com profile] bellinghwoman)

Assuming you are taking the Chunnel, pack some snacks. When we did the reverse direction, the food sold out quick and selection was minimal.

Nice relaxing ride tho :)

I'd recommend the train. It's also less susceptible to weather related delays except for extreme cold. Easier to get to in Paris as well.

BTW - Paris food rec when near the Eiffel Tower, Bistro Ribe, about a block away from the Hilton near there (with the caveat has been almost 3 years since I ate there)

Second rec, if you want to stay one night in London at a hotel, check out Hotel Indigo near tower hill. New hotel so very cheap rates to get people in ($169 per night for London when I booked a co-worker there 2 weeks ago)

Still not a bad lunch stop if you do the touristy thing for a day...

You do know that Dori's daughter is currently studying at LAMDA? Wave in her direction as you go by....

The bellinghpeople are currently 300 metres above Hong Kong - or more precisely the New Territories - and are a long way away from our calenders and PCs. Can we get back to you in a few days?

(In principle, yay! We're 45 minutes out of Kings Cross, and would be happy to save you a hotel bill if you were wanted that, rather than the dash in and back from Lille.)

I have a feeling we don't have your email. (Mine is Alan.Bellingham@gmail.com)

3rd October looks to be the only day we are free all day and can actually get down to London as it happens, though I expect to be in London on the 2nd for a meeting, and would be free in the evening. If on a weekday, we can get down for some evenings.

Depending on the day, I could hop on a train from Oxford :)
