Things, varied and sundry
Aug. 30th, 2010 02:07 pmSo. Yesterday I got up at 6, started work at 8, pushed away from the desk at 5ish, went out for sushi and sake, and then...had insomnia until 4am. Ugh.
And then I got up at 6:30 this morning and hauled myself cross-borough to jury duty, where you find me now, working on the New!Project and wondering what gifts I must gift the Jury Gods with, that I can be dismissed w/o being empaneled (ideally) today or tomorrow. Since I fly out to Atlanta and Dragon*Con on Thursday... (and no, I haven't packed yet.I haven't even done laundry yet laundry done!)
EtA: I was called in the third cull, and then told to go away and come back tomorrow morning. Damn it, if I'd avoided that cull I'd probably have been dismissed, and in the clear for another 4 years... oh well.
Which reminds me -- I have another signing at Dragon*Con, Saturday 10am at The Missing Volume booth in the dealer's room. Rumor has it there may be chocolate. And maybe a very brief reading.
And, of course, a hurricane is threatening to run up the coastline this weekend. With luck, any travel disruptions will happen AFTER everyone gets there, and ends before we leave.
And Leverage... I know there was stuff I wanted to say about Leverage, but be damned if I remember. The writing and the packing, it has all my brain. Feel free to talk about it in comments, and maybe I'll remember what I wanted to say.

Date: 2010-08-30 07:43 pm (UTC)Am keeping an eye Hurricane Earl. Right now, it looks like it's on track to hit the Carolina coast ... unless it just keeps curving to the north and stays out to sea the way Danielle did. There's already another area of disturbed weather right behind it. Hasn't organized enough to be given a name yet, but it's looking more and more likely to develop into a storm.
Too fried to comment on Leverage beyond saying that I liked it.
Happy packing, and say hello to Atlanta for me while you're there. :)
