From redroom, a reader review [warning: spoilerific!] that ends with some very nice words:

"...Weight of Stone picks up with Jerzy, Ao and Mahault on ship and Jerzy violently ill, and the pace and power do not slacken from that point on. The world of Vinearts, Sin Washers and rulers with their complex political and religious separations is deftly written with authenticity. There is no corner of the world that is not aptly peopled or a minor character that lacks depth or subtlety....Weight of Stone is like a fine wine from a master vintner: full bodied, fresh and satisfying, a tale that lingers pleasantly on the mental palate. Good to the last word."

I find myself thinking "is this person a relative of mine?" But no, random stranger...

Meanwhile, I am working on the copyedit for PACK OF LIES... or I was, anyway, until [livejournal.com profile] terri_orborne and [livejournal.com profile] stef94 came along and kidnapped me for a late lunch of Jewish Soul Food and an afternoon of talking clothing and cats and travel and other girlish pursuits. Now, I am back to it, like a dutiful little auhtor-type....

Let's put it this way. I finally got more than 10 minutes together to sit down with both 1 and the gorgeous shiny arc of 2. Meant to just read part of one... Yeah, both devoured. As in spent ALL of yesterday reading, and only put them down when my eyes wouldn't focus anymore, a chapter from the end of 2, and finished as soon as I woke up this morning! :-D VERY wonderful story. And now impatiently waiting for #3. ;)

*chuckles* No pressure!! This is why I typically try to wait til all 3 of a trillogy are out before reading them. I'm always impatient to get my hands on the third one otherwise, especially those who like to leave off in fingertips-on-the-cliffs-edge spots. *points at you and Maggie both* :-P
