Discovering that I am feeling more sadness/regret at missing WFC this year than WorldCon, despite Exotic!Australia vs not-Exotic Ohio.

My reasons for not going are valid (I'll be just home from 2 weeks abroad, and attending Capclave the weekend before, and hopefully visiting VA/DC friends afterward, and 4 weeks away from home is just Too Much, even without the financial considerations) but...

*sads at missing everyone*

Charlottesville/Harrisonburg area, possibly... Am also agitating for Virginia Beach. Feel free to offer up local/indie bookstores in the area... (we're focusing on the chains, right now)

Linden is off of I-66 and on the way to Harrisonburg, and the wine-expert in-laws are big fans (unrelated to the fact that Linden serves our cheeses with the wine :).

I won't be at WFC either. Staying on this coast for Yaoicon that weekend. Many fans there, and a writer friend, too. But I wish I could do both.

I'm always more sorry to miss WFC than Worldcon - but since it's much easier for me to get to not-even-slightly-exotic Melbourne than utterly unfamiliar Ohio, I'm off to Worldcon this year, and WFC will have to wait.
