Draft 2.0 of Vineart War 3 achieved yesterday -- off to betas for their feedback. Meanwhile, PACK OF LIES needs a post- line edit once-over, and the revisions letter for PSI #3 awaits... And I'm supposed to be working on some short fiction too, yeah. And submission reports due next week.

So last night the meerkat took off. A lovely evening of drinks and dinner and a midnight espresso that seemed like a good idea at the time. Home by 1, asleep by 1:30, and this morning I am... not feeling the bright and shiny, no.

Morning goals: import CDs to iTunes, clean apartment, brush cats, fold laundry, pay bills. Afternoon goals: work, or nap. It's a coin-toss, at this point... Nap won. I thought I was going in for 20 minutes. Two hours later... (I'm blaming the humidity, which just sucks the energy out of everything.)

What's up with your weekend?

Working both days, surprise birthday party tonight (can mention it here as the person isn't on LJ!), possibly dinner guest tomorrow but he has a seriously ill relative, so that's in the lap of the gods!

Have a great w/end!

Are you contracted for more Vineart books or is book three the final in a trilogy?

We heard Joan Osborne at the Rubin Museum last night: 7- 8:30, entirely acoustic, gorgeous.
Today it is Saturday Things, but also getting the futon from from the Yellow Submarine (us) to Penny Lane #2 ([profile] kradical and [personal profile] wrenn, most of the work to be done by them. I hope. Baseball watching. Linguine with heirloom tomatoes and lots of olive oil.
Tomorrow more of same, except Penny Lane is coming here for grilled hamburgers and such.

Yay draft!

Me, I am writing this book and that proposal. Much like ever, really. And stealing chances to walk in the sunshine quick, before the sunshine goes away. (What's that you say? There's a profile of me in the evening paper? Quick, abandon work and walk to newsagent! Also, what's that you say? We're out of chocolate biscuits? Quick...!)

I discovered a farmer's market close to my place, and visited it this am. No kale (too hot!) but peaches, basil, and several gluten-free items ready to be explored. Then I returned to write a long essay for BVC's blog. Watched a recording of last night's Haven, read a Patricia Briggs book I missed when it came out, and now must flee my office because somehow, smoke from the chain smokers downstairs is getting into my office from their deck.

No idea what I will do about this, but sure need a quick solution other than turning a hose on them. I am mondo allergic.

I also have a "You need this" thing I am packing to send your way. Probably won't make it for your birthday, but I have had it over 30 years and it has not found the right group of people to explore it. So, I deed it to you, in hopes that it will find Purpose in your household.

And a bit o' fun . . . .
