Saturday I decided I needed to Not Be In The Apartment, mainly because after several days of 90-degree heat there's only so much even the best apartment a/c unit can handle, especially in an office that gets both eastern and south-western exposures (in the winter, mind you, this is a real plus). So I decamped for the movies, catching "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" with a friend. Full of plot holes, yeah but fast, pretty fun. The young lead was interesting-looking, not handsome. Points for that, & yay for tech-magic that gave a nod to steampunk but wasn't actually trying to be steampunk (they used electricity and physics, so you know I was thinking "hey, where's my quarter?")

Then onward to the local greenmarket, and then PJ Clarke's (the usual post-movie discussion joint), and after that a few hours of working in the B&N cafe before I came home to a cooling-off apartment and two very hungry cats.

Today I've started the laundry (finally!) and then -- facing another day of mid-90 degree heat -- plan to decamp for the nearest foofy-drink cafe to get some work done. Some day I will be able to enjoy the sunlight that streams into my apartment... but that day is not today. Tonight, tho, the plan is to make duck breast risotto, and be damned the heat.

And new Leverage tonight! The countdown to squeeing Kane fans melting down the Internet begins is 4..3..2

(since LJ is being cranky about embedding, here, have a link instead)
