okay, am serious about this intern/assistant thing. I'm looking for someone -- either a student or freelancer -- who is interested in learning about the publishing biz from this side of the desk, and also willing to work for experience/a pittance/meals.

Right now I'm looking for someone who can give 2 days (probably 4 hours each)/month on-site, plus distance-work as/if needed. They need to NOT be allergic to cats, and live within the commutable NYC area...

If interested, e-mail me at LAG[at]lauraannegilman[dot]net.

If I lived in your area, I'd be right there. But the other side f the Atlantic is a wee bit far, I fear. (I don't need an internship, but this is the kind of work I really enjoy. Yes, I'm strange.)

I think that's a splendid idea. Then I could visit both of you at once. (For yes, the world is - or ought to be - All About Me.)

K, if you fancy a trip to Glastonbury when my teaching contract finishes, we could seriously do with some paperwork help over about 3 days....We will feed you and lend you dogs.

I would definitely apply for that job... if I didn't live in Canada.

Not to jump on the bandwagon, but as I live in South Florida I wouldn't qualify on the location issue. That being said, I have been interested in the publishing industry for some years, and would certainly be interested to talk about any piecemeal projects you might have that could be done remotely. :)

Friends?

Hello,
I'm Angie form Odyssey. If you need a reminder: I was the one that kept going on about adjectivals. Anyways, I just started an LJ, and wondered if you wanted to be my friend? (*^_^*)

Might be able to manage something. Time's super tight to the end of the month. Could maybe take the train from somewhere in Philly area so it wouldn't a train. Could definitely manage with the offsite stuff.
I'm considered a bit OCD about the organizational stuff . . .and I am your wicked minion, after all.
You can reach me at elektra AT blueblaze.com

Good move. I just hired my about-to-go-off-to-college-and-desperate-for-money niece to be my b/i/t/c/h personal assistant, and I can already feel my stress levels dropping. If she can take care of all the stoopid little crap that eats up my time, it'll be worth every penny I'm paying her.
