Things, Sundry
Jul. 8th, 2010 10:42 pmThis morning I woke up without a heat headache. Humidity had risen, but I managed to get my morning walk in without expiring. Yay~! You know it's been m*****f***** hot when a day where it only hits 90 is "pleasantly cool." Seriously.
The lectures seem to be going well. The one-on-one sessions likewise. Only two people have cried*, and I only had to whap one person with a rolled-up manuscript**. I've had a short story attack, and may even finish it by Readercon this weekend, in addition to getting some of the writing I brought with me done.
And I have had crab cakes and perfectly batter-fried haddock. And lots and lots of iced tea. And very little sleep, but compared to the students, I'm practically nap-girl so am not complaining.
I could have lived without the hot water going out, tho. Also, the freelance gig insisting that I deal with ongoing stuff because "I'm away for the week" does not register with them. :-(
One more day left. As excellent a week as this has been, I very much would like to be home, yes. Miss the kittehs. But first, there will be Readercon. At a hotel with a/c. And hot showers. Oh, yes.

the meerkat, chillin' in-between sessions
*It wasn't anything I said, honest. We were working on some Difficult Topics
** Thou Shalt Not Say "I'm not good enough to...." at Odyssey. Certainly not twice.
