This is me, checking in from New Hampshire, where it is HOT (how hot? Before I get dressed I put my t-shirt in the freezer, that's how hot) and the students are wonderful, and very smart and funny, and are putting up with my cranky teacher-ways. Or they have so far, anyway. When they see what I have planned for them tomorrow....

I miss my kittens. Otherwise, having a blast. And now I have to go critique three stories, and then work on my own project, and get some sleep because that 9am lecture's going to come around surprisingly fast. Oy.

How's everyone else holding up? Are you under heat-siege, or is it cool where you are?

It's hot here, though not has hot as it could be and has been in the past. But humid and hot and ick.

T-shirt in freezer is self-preservation. Go you.

I just gave in and ordered a window a/c unit for the bedroom, in-store pick-up at the North Haven Best Buy as soon as I can get there tomorrow. This will be the first a/c unit we have ever owned, either of us.

So yeah, it's pretty damned hot. Either we're getting old and cranky, or we're doing it for the kittehs.

Could be both. :-)

We've had an window a/c for about fifteen years. We got it the summer I was pregnant. An absolute necessity. Really.

We tend put off putting it in the window as long as possible, since it wreaks havoc with the electric bill. But the temp in the living room just broke ninety and nothing's moving outside. Gah.

Maybe I'll freeze a t-shirt for myself. (Hubby and daughter are going to work in air-conditioned places.)

Don't shoot me, but it's cool here in Portland (Oregon).

That said, the heat is supposed to switch on tomorrow.

We shall see....

Chicago has been utterly lovely all week, sunny and non-humid. Tomorrow it's back to Portland where MRK says it's still sweater weather for cryin’ out loud, but supposed to go from low of 55° to high of 97° in 2 days!! Clearly we're in for some whiplash.

Warm and humid enough here, upper 80s F, that we've been running the window AC. I know this rates scorn from the True Scorcher crowd, but it's relative. Maine had highs in the 60s last week . . .

Thank you for the freezer idea. I just may do that myself! Stay as cool as you can!

It's hot and muggy here in Derbyshire and, though we have clouds, we're being *teased* with the prospect of rain. The border collies have it the worst - I've brushed their trousers but they're still shaggy!

Glad you're having such a good time. :-D

Merry =^..^=

We're less than usual, but I feel bad for East Coasters as we at least know to expect it...this shit's just wrong for y'all. Of course, if I were weather god, noplace would get hotter than, maybe 95 F.(And even that's to keep the saguaros alive...for myself I'd prefer 85.)
