Mmmm. Busy-social weekend*, starting at KGB on Wednesday, dinner with a friend on Thursday, then Friday night catching a friend's band playing on the UWS, then back to our new local, which is utterly wonderful and within an easy stagger distance to the burrow. Yay! Saturday was Cute Puppy in the park [and why do all the tourists stop me to ask directions? Do I look like I know how to find Strawberry Fields/the Zoo/the exit to 72nd street? Okay, so I do know those things. Lucky guess...] and what was supposed to be an afternoon of work turned into an afternoon of nap.

Ooops.

Read a bit (Lynn Flewelling's THE WHITE ROAD**), and slept on and off, until 9am this morning. Kinda tired, me.

Meanwhile, the Attack Story tells me it wants to be one of those mainstream-y things. I keep telling it there's no future in mainstream but my lizard, it is stubborn. We'll see.

Today, warned by the weather forecast, and driven by a need to be productive once again, I plan to spend hidden in the relative chill of the burrow, getting all the freelance stuff done, and working full-speed-ahead on THE VINEART WAR #3.

And then.... Leverage! Tonight, 9pm, two hours. I'll be there, will you? Shall we use this space for episode comments?

*plus, y'know, some Actual Paying Work

**It's always odd, reading a finished book when you read it in draft format. My brain keeps picking up the scenes that aren't there any more, noting the new narrative jumps, looking for information that is now being given later/differently/not at all... Fascinating on a learning level, but sort of distracting as a reader!

Always wondered. Thanks for reply. I, as a non professional, knew that mainstream could pay well. Certainly you hear about many writers who are mainstream on TV and they always seem to be making money. I guess it is like being a lawyer - some make INSANE amounts of money but since the average salary is still a normal number it shows that huge numbers must not be making ends meet as a lawyer....
