The plus of freelancing is that you get to avoid most of the colds and whatnot that regularly sweep through offices. The minus of freelancing is that means you don't have the established immunities you did when you were exposed on a regular basis.

Add to that a plane full of kids, coming and going, and it's hardly surprising that I came home from Florida with a cold.

Alas, there are no (paid) sick days when you're a freelancer. *sneezes around sore throat, is miserable, still has deadlines*

I have orange juice. I have chicken broth. I have brown rice. If only I had a hot fudge sundae, I'd be halfway to better already...

Tell me only good things, today.

Whisky is excellent for colds. Also red wine. I am firmly convinced of this.

Between both you and Di, I'm glad that you can't transmit colds over the internet.

Get well.

I swear by zinc lozenges. I swear, they reduce the symptoms 50% and shorten the duration by at least 2 days. Suck on zinc lozenges.

And get better fast. *pat pat*

Awww, feel better!

My cure-all is tea with honey and lemon. Mr. JP's cure-all is tea with honey, lemon, and whiskey.

Also highly recommended is Source Naturals Wellness Formula Herbal Defense Complex. Stuff smells weird but works miracles.

I'm all about vitamine C and collodial silver when I'm sick. Also, Pepperment-Ginger tea by Alvita is wonderful for picking you up. If you really like ginger, leave it steeping a long while.

Vitamin D

I'm channeling my father here, but get some Vitamin D. By all accounts, its a far bigger boost to your immune system than Vitamin C, and those who use it swear by it. I've had some success with it as well, though it hasn't quite been a miracle drug.

And drink some green tea, too. Hot water + anti-oxidants = good.

Once every two weeks visit a public elementary school or library to keep your immunity up? :)
