Friday morning I put Cute Puppy in playgroup (the same place where they hold Yappy Hour -- specializing in smaller dogs, allowing them to interact with other dogs while Mummy and Daddy go to work or need a Time Out). It's good for her to get a chance to do no-holds rough-and-tumble -- contrary to some expectations, her breed is solidly built and tougher'n rawhide, and she likes to rough it up on occasion.

And, bonus, she comes home so tired the next day she's really mellow. :-)

I wrote about 1,000 new words and did some editing, got a bunch of around-town chores done (being able to walk my normal pace, rather than being tied to Mei-mei's shorter legs, was useful), signed some stock at the Citicorp B&N (3rd Ave & 54th), and priced new furniture at Ethan Allen (c'mon, royalty checks, show us some love!). And then I collected a Very Tired Cute Puppy and we both collapsed in a heap.

My original evening plans having been Ashed, I was going to head to a party downtown, and then decided that maybe I should put my feet up and mellow (since I have plans the rest of the weekend). So I pulled out the Heap O Menus (because, seriously, this neighborhood is Heap o' Good Restaurants, and They All Deliver) and made friends with my folks's OMG Every Channel Known to Humanity tv setup.

And, oh yeah, thanks to Fredlet the Patient and Oft-Amused (and with only a brief breakdown of teh Internets) Officially Switched the Website to WordPress. Which means the design is a bit simpler, but updates will happen more frequently. Yay for updates! www.lauraannegilman.net

This morning, there is writing (and editing, because OMG insane deadlines), and maybe some Park Time with the puppy, and then heading downtown to hobnob with the Known Troublemaker in town from Texas. Send alibis and bail money....

Should we send a Texas Ranger instead?

There was a time when window-shopping the Ethan Allen catalog was my favorite thing. Haven't seen one in years, though.

Sounds like a busy but pleasant day. I hope your weekend goes well!

I picked up the new book yesterday, I started to read it last night. Hope to finish it today.
