Far later than I'd planned, and only due to the good offices and never-ending patience of PattiN and StevenP, Tales of the Cosa Nostradamus is up and available for purchase right now on Smashwords. Six short stories covering a range of characters -- 4 reprints, 1 previously available only via BookViewCafe, and 1 never-before-published (it will be out in print next year). Plus some bonus material, just for fun... all for the fabulous introductory price of $3.99!

And next time anyone says "oh, turning a book into e-format is just pushing a button," you have my permission to bitchslap them into the next country.

No, really. No comment. Okay: "about fucking time."

Only about 1100 new words on TVW#3, but it was a scene of careful picking rather than mad rushng so... am not too displeased. Still on schedule.

Gleefully quoting [livejournal.com profile] mizkit: "watches all the chaos thanks to the volcano and thinks: Welcome to the 21st Century, Mankind. You are still Mother Nature's bitch."

I'm sympathetic to everyone who is stranded or otherwise disrupted by the smoke, obviously. But it's a good reminder that the things we take for granted? Not so much. Still not King o the World.

Tonight it's just me, some kung pao chicken, a glass of wine, the DVD of SHERLOCK HOLMES, and some freelance editing. I'm good with that.

Y'all have yourselves a good weekend!

AND A BONUS SIXTH! HARD MAGIC is shipping! (yeah I know, May release date. Try telling Amazon/BN that!) Is your copy en route yet?

I buy ebooks and reformat them so they'll look right on my ereader, so I know how tedious formatting is - and that's a book that's already mostly formatted properly :p

Just how many times are you planning on watching Sherlock, anyway? ;-)

I was watching the volcanic eruption and thinking about the ripple effect one event has throughout the world. There are times when technology can bind us more tightly than we realize, and only the absence of the benefits of tech -air travel and other things, in this case- hammers that home.

The studio can bite me.

Have a good weekend!

I have checked out all the ebook places that take PayPal and none of them have it for preorder. So I wait. If I don't find it I am going to have to go out and get a real paper copy. LOL I live in Canada so not as easy as it sounds. And a lot more expensive.

I didn't know that. So more like "next door over", huh?

Also I just bought "Tales of..." and am not so patiently waiting for fictionwise to put up "Hard Magic"
