I'm home. Dijda miss me?
Apr. 12th, 2010 06:33 amHome from DC, and what Nea referred to as the "Serendipity and Superstition" tour - the things I intended to see didn't always work out, but so many thing I hadn't expected ("That was S. They're about to Morris Dance in front of the Capital" phone call just as we walked -- unintentionally -- past the Hill, the orchid show, etc) that we decided if I didn't get to see something (full cherry blossom festival, a few missed meals with friends, etc) it just Wasn't Meant to Be.
The trip itself was extremely useful in terms both of Gathering Information for a future project (simmer, simmer), and shaking loose some things that had been stuck'd, including a turn in The Vineart War #3 that left me cackling in evil glee. And a new short story idea. Hrm.
I also got to see some local friends I'd missed during my last trip, and hang out with new friends, and...it was just Good, all around.
That said, as much as I love to travel, I so very much love coming home, to the point where I don't even want to leave the apartment to go to the gym this morning ("but I walked for miiiiiles" my legs are whinging. "Can't we take today off?").
And now, back to a life of (relative) solitude, sobriety, and a shitload of work to be done... (including close to 200 e-mails I couldn't deal with whlie on the road. Holeeee...)
