Yes, another food post. Spending the day amending a draft on the line-by-line level is fascinating when you're doing it, but sort of boring to blog about. And unless you want to hear about the results of my fitness test this morning at the gym..
yeah, thought not.
So. Food, in honor of the upcoming holiday:
The good things about Passover:
Macaroons, charoset, and matzo brei*.
(for you heathens: matzo brei and charoset)
The bad things about Passover:
Macaroons have more calories per bite than cheesecake, charoset triggers my digestive difficulties, and I'm addicted to matzo brei. Seriously. I'm halfway through my serving** and I'm thinking "I'd like to make another."
Today (before meeting friends for the Last Pizza), I'm making my contribution to the Seder: a sort of crack-tastic caramel-chocolate-butterscotch toffee thing*. Nom. The sooner that's out of the house, the better off I'll be.
*trust Jews to take something called "the bread of affliction" and find ways to make it yummy. It's sort of our genetic hobby
**matzo brei is also possibly the only thing I make without fiddling with the recipe each time. There's no need: it's exactly what I want it to be, as-is.
