Spent the day presenting & paneling at the Liberty States Writers Conference, and then drove back in a bitch of a storm -- heavy rain and high winds made it one of those white-knuckle experiences you don't want to repeat any time soon. Two lamp posts were down in the hotel parking lot, taking out several cars, and the building lost power briefly -- here at home there are at least two cars squashed by downed trees, and sirens running pretty much constantly in the distance, while bansidhes-winds try to get in through the windows.

Am very thankful to live in an old, solid building, tonight.
