Monday again? Already?
Feb. 8th, 2010 07:47 amSuperbowl. Good game. Good food. Good booze. Really bad and annoying commercials, as a rule. Dear Advertisers: When you realize that women watch the Superbowl, you will make a lot of money. Until then? Not so much.
Meanwhile, it's official -- I'm going to Dragon*Con. woot!
And, um, really really busy here. As always, for random comments and fly-by blogging, best to find me on Twitter (@LAGilman).

The problem with the Superbowl advertisers, I personally think, is that they haven't seriously updated their picture of who watches football AND has discretionary income. Of course, most of the ads I'd react well to were probably companies that decided not to advertise or pulled their ads (like Pepsi) when CBS ran the "Focus on Family" ad.
(and WTF, anyway? Show you love and respect your mother by not giving her the choice of what to do with her own body, and then tackling her? That was the message they were sending? Seriously icky. Seriously icky)

Date: 2010-02-10 04:35 am (UTC)Focus on the Family is utterly despicable.... and CBS is hypocritical running its sectarian malevolent moralizing (especially given such things as the godaddy.com softcore porn aimed at male heterosexuals and perhaps a few lesbians), but then Sumner Redstone's first wife I seem to recall served divorce papers on him on Yom Kippur (they're Jewish); Sumner Redstone controls CBS, and despite CBS' editorial policies, is a Democrat.
