It's not just raining sideways, I swear it's raining upside down. There's no other explanation for the fact that the walk home from the gym (a mile) not only soaked halfway through my coat (huzzah for drover coats that laugh at hurricanes) and my waterproof hiking sneakers, but also managed to get my jeans and sweatshirt soaked. And my fingers looked like I'd fallen asleep in the tub. [RTA: The Hat, however, remains steadfast and true, if badly in need of some repair work. How I do love The Hat....]

NYC-area peeps, if you don't have to go outside... don't.

[had it been properly cold, we'd be in a winter wonderland right now. yeah, I'm a little cranky at the temps, me]

Today, I am going to beat up a novella until it cries uncle, make cornbread, and read someone else's book [and plot out Dublin trip]. I think that's a damn good plan.

Alas, I have to go to work. I'm on the late shift, though, and it's should be over before 9:00 tonight.

Ugh.

With a title like that, I now have that old Carpenters song "Rainy Days and Mondays" running through my head like a freight train.

Gee, thanks. (Where's the Iron Maiden when I need it?)

That sounds like a challenge. Everybody's got some kryptonite they're susceptible to. ;-)

I was just up in NYC the weekend before last, and it basically rained and was annoyingly cold all day Sunday. It's so relieving to be back in South FL....where we will be bombarded with thunderstorms all afternoon. ;p

This morning I thought that I could take comfort in not having to go out today. I had hoped there was going to be a temperature drop and there'd be snow.

You want snow!? At the end of January?! Winter's almost over!

Precisely. This is why Spring Training starts in February in Florida. :)

Not that I'm anxious for these things or anything. :)

Heck, in Boston, it can snow in April (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Fools%27_Day_blizzard)!
