Yesterday the goal was to get through 200 pages of the final runthrough of PACK OF LIES before sending it into production. This is the authorial line-edit stage, where I try to pick up any of the small (or not so small) details I missed when doing large-scale revisions. Like going from using a telescope to a magnifying glass; it can leave you a little cross-eyed.

I got through 190 pages before my brain fell over and I was good for nothing except #askadrinkingwriter on Twitter, and watching Castle (which I thought should have used the A plot as a B plot over two episodes, as despite all the emotional meat it wasn't a very satisfying meal). Then, for some reason, my brain decided to go read some run-ups to today's election in Massachusetts (argh), and so I am running on 4 hours sleep.

Note to self: pls remember when you stay up to 2am, you will wake up at the usual 6am anyway. This never ends well.

Today is the usual clutter of to-do list, including the remainder of the line-edit, plus Boomerang gets to go to the vet. Can lugging his moose-ness to the vet qualify as my weight-lifting for the day?

And if you live in MA, remember to vote. However it turns out, it's not something that should be decided by voter apathy!

EtA: and Boomer has seen the vet, and the vet has seen Boomer. And he is now, officially, On A Diet. Which means so is Pandora. Oh, this is going to be fun. Not.

This Massachusetts election is scary. I am *so* disgusted with Martha - she has come across as arrogant, her lack of campaigning implies that she thought that the office would fall into her lap, but then all her other offices have been handed to her. However one would think that her advisors would have known better and given her the old dope slap long ago. The opposition is to the right of Attilla the Hun, and is taking pages from Romney's playbook -polished up.

Terrifying me. I mean, I can't point because I live in Texas. (Sigh.) But the MA election is terrifying me, and that's what I wondered--why didn't the local party take her in in hand? I read an opinion that it's because Kennedy/Kerry had the Senate tied up for so long there isn't any real knowledge of how to run this kind of campaign among the locals. But still, shouldn't the national party have stepped in to offer "guidance?"
