I made it to the gym, and did not die. Always a good thing to report on Monday.

Meanwhile, the e-mails have gone back and forth and the proposals have been accepted [and I've posted about delivery dates], so it's probably safe to announce that I will be writing two more Nocturne "Bites" - paranormal romance novellas that are available as downloads via eHarlequin.

I'm pretty damn psyched about these -- like "Dreamcatcher," they're a chance for me to play with a very different style, in a length that I'm not accustomed to working in (15-17,000 words), and therefore are a challnge to get out of my usual comfort zone. As I was talking about in an earlier post,t his is (IMO) a very good thing for writers as well as readers.

The first one is (in my head, anyway) called FIRE BREAK. What would you fight for, your heart or your soul?

In other progress, I now have a title for the Big New Project simmering in my brain, and am working on the second pass for the yet-unnamed Paris 1924 short story (the research for which is making me want to go back to Paris Right Now). As we say on Twitter, #amwriting. Life is good. :-)

EtA: reminder: 4Q estimated taxes are due this week! If you owe, off you go!
EtA2: to soothe my various annoyances (see following post) I am making white bean soup, lamb risotto, and applesauce. The apartment smells utterly edible.
