Thanks to Stacia Kane, my new motto is: In Vino Veritas. Also Typos. Anyone know what "typos" would be in Latin?

My gym buddy called in sick today, so I went early (he is NOT a morning person) and feel all Virtuous and Shit, with the day yet ahead of me. Which is good, cause since Tuesday I've been invited to write a story for the Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance #2 (wheee!) and the novella proposals I sent out on Wednesday have been approved. *rubs hands together* This should be fun.... except for the whole "head 'spoloding" thing, that is.

What things look like right now:

PACK OF LIES revision -- due this month I have until March! Wheee!
prep and upload the various Cosa Nostradamus stories to BookView Cafe -- January
VINEART WAR #2 revisions -- due February/March
TRICKS OF THE TRADE -- due 1 February
Novella #1 -- March 26th
paranormal romance story -- due 15 April
Paris 1924 story -- due 16 April
Novella #3 -- due May 28
VINEART #3 -- due 1 October

And, um, anything I'm forgetting. That's it.

*takes a deep breath, nods grimly, gets back to work*

Remember this mantra:

IT'S GOOD TO BE BUSY. IT'S GOOD TO BE BUSY. IT'S GOOD TO BE ...

Where the hell is the wine?

I might go with mendum/menda. It means fault, blemish, error, mistake. That seems close enough to what you want, especially if you tacked on something like scriptum which is a mark/line, composition, or piece of writing.

Like I said, my Latin is rustier than a 100 year old nail.

Tangentially: I have read that the medieval monks used to blame the demon Tativulus for mistakes made in their hand copying of the Bible.

The suggestion has been made that as he has much less work in the hand copying department he has taken over responsibility for all sorts of computer malfunctions.

A single demon - however energetic - couldn't possibly be responsible for all computer malfunctions. He must have recruited most of the other denizens of Hell to help out... and that's not counting the ones seconded to work for Microsoft.

Whereas I blame the demon Rum. :-)

I once sent a few chapters of a co-written project over to my CP, so full of typos that she actually emailed to ask me if I'd been drunk while writing it. Oops. (Normally I don't get all drunk like that, but this had been one of those nights where you're sober, you're sober, you're sober, and suddenly it all hits you at once and you're just totally plastered).
