I may have to start paying for this account -- I need more icons. Right now, I need my yawning meerkat icon desperately.

Went into the City tonight for a meeting, so by the time I got home all I wanted to do was collapse in front of the t.v. But there's a deadline looming, and I do have some sort of vague work ethic, so despite a bad word-hangover from yesterday's production I managed to hammer out another 1300 words or so. Some of them even aren't bad.

Go, me.

CGAG tomorrow, so the word count will be nil. I think maybe I can afford to take the day off to get slapped around the room a bit...

Although I may bring my single malt flask to the meeting. ;-)


Okay, time to fall over go splat now.

I wondered what you did with all the meerkats I sent you.

Icons are pretty cheap. (Which is good, because apparently 15 is not enough. I tried to make it enough!) Paid accounts aren't too bad either.

And on another note - it came yesterday! I'm thinking of making it part of the Best Presentation prize. Or Best First costume?

Ooo. Either's fine by me. I like the idea of Best First, since it's my first original child -- but it's not really an under-12 sort of book, for the most part, so I worry if a novice costumer takes it...

Don't worry. There are two "Best First"s in the competition this year. One is for Best First Made Entirely by a Young Fan (which is the only trophy and comes with Alice Through the Needle's Eye and Travel Far, Pay No Fare.

The other one is for best first in the main competition, so the winner is, by default, over 12. If the winner still seems a tad young (read: under 16 or so), then I'll swap for one of the other books.

Amazon tells me I get my copy in August. Is this right for the street date?

According to l'editrix, street date's 31 July -- that's when we have our first signing, so it had better be right!

Amazon etc should start shipping soon after.
