home again home again jiggety-jig
Nov. 22nd, 2009 06:44 pmHome, as the header says, from Philcon. It was -- after the chaos of World Fantasy -- a very laid back little convention for me: I spent several hours hanging out in the SFWA suite, talking to folk from southofJersey whom I don't see often enough in conversation-conducive atmospheres. Possibly as a result, I also got dragged into a number of SFWA-related conversations. Plus, via Available Smart Brains (mmmm, brains) I figured out what was wrong with the current proposal, and how to set it right. Yay!
There were a number of very good panels (especially the "money advice for new freelancers" panel this morning, which could have easily expanded into a two hour workshop), and some excellent parties (and more I missed, because I got too comfortable to party hop), and a lot of new friends met (including Mother of Evil Minion, and I can see where daughter gets her easy charm). And I was made to purr not once but three times (twice via book-compliments, once via a fabulous drive-by backrub)
And now I am home, the cats have shown their appreciation for my return (Pandora scarfed her dinner and then threw it back up) and I -- having gone all day on 4 hours sleep -- am about to fall over go boom.
What did everyone else do this weekend?
