Definition of Insanity
Nov. 4th, 2009 12:50 amI am going to P-Con in Dublin (Ireland) the first weekend in March '10 (damn it, Chaz, I never got you to sign the book. Will have to lug it along with me..)
I am attending/presenting at the Liberty States Writers Conference in NJ the second weekend of March '10.
I am seriously, seriously, considering going to ConCon (in Portland) the third weekend in March '10.
Will someone please remind me of how damn tired I was this yesterday? Okay, it's not the same, but still. Insanity much? On the other hand, other than wine, food, and travel, I have no real (costly) vices. So why not? And I have many P'lander peeps it would be good to see, off-con...
*looks at schedule and bank balance and deadlines, and ponders*
And for those interested, a bunch of photos of Highway 1 (CA), very cute seals, some vineyards, and me wearing leather... http://www.flickr.com/photos/23974478@N07/sets/72157622730026694/

Which Dublin, by the way? When you hear Dublin in Ohio, you have to think a second, as there's a Dublin outside of Columbus that has a well attended Celtic Festival (and some guy by the name of Jack Nicklaus grew up).

Date: 2009-11-07 12:08 pm (UTC)Also, I find myself at a bit of a moral dilemma. I don't begrudge them the chance to make money off their popularity (extra for autographs, etc), but the idea of "some (paying) fans are more equal than others" never appealed, even when I can be one of the so-called elite. Creating such rigid ticket classes... it just offends my old-time fannish soul, I guess.
(surprise! You guys didn't think I still had a soul, did you? When I hit the NYT, then you'll know I finally got an acceptable price for it.)

My camera can do that, they tell me. Must learn how.
